Autumn in Cape Town – RX 100 photographs

Cape Town March 2013 smallBack in the warm south thankfully.  Here are a few photographs of the area immediately around our place in the Southern part of the Cape peninsula.

It’s late summer here, a lovely time when the winds ease, and the days are long and languid.  This year I only brought the little RX-100 (no big Nikon or Sony this time), and below are a few of the first crop of shots, taken while walking around the place in the low evening light.  As usual, if you have Flash the photos are best seen in full screen (press FS in the bottom right hand corner), and in slide show ( press SL).  Titles can be seen by pressing the ‘i’ in the top right corner, and to get back here, press ESC.  If you don’t have Flash, i.e if you are using an Apple iPad/Pod/Phone, or a Nexus 7/10 tablet, or any Android tablet running 4.1 +, you can now see them as well.  Just click any of the thumbnails and a full screen slide-show should start.

  • Salt River Sunday

Again with some Street photography.  I chanced upon Salt River railway station while wandering around Woodstock in eastern Cape Town.  A characteristically South African location. I came across it by following some very well dressed people, wondering where they were headed.  Its a huge station, about Clapham Junction sized, in a totally obscure part of…
