Morning, pristine

image

Today’s picture. Taken at about 8:30am on Noordhoek beach before the arrival of many children.  There are a few things restricting my shots currently. The wind is very strong at the moment, but the skies are clear.    Sand blowing off the beach has a pretty abrasive effect on camera lenses, so its important to stay downstream and also at an angle to the sun so my shadow isn’t in shot. Also, the sun goes down at low tide over the next few days, and coupled with the very powerful winds and absence of sunsets (no cloud), its not a great time for long exposure shots of sunset seascapes.  But hopefully I’ll be able to get a few in the next few days.

  • Kommejtkie rockpool

A morning walk with M*t*n and P*tt* on the beach at Kommejtkie.   Walkers, surfers, dogs f*cking, families, loners, getting a mild dose of pre-breakfast exercise, on an uncharacteristically cold and grey strand. Later I went for a run on Noordhoek beach, 6km over. I had driven back, changed, and then started from the other end…
