Madrid street – chums

image

Out in the street yesterday with  my Olympus and a fast telephoto lens.  Like so many cities in Europe,  it’s hard to see evidence of the recession in Madrid. Much more obvious in London in fact.  This area of Fuencaral/Malasana has many flourishing speciality shops. I don’t recall whether this one was for dogs or humans, or both. The dog seemed happy enough though.

  • Kommejtkie rockpool

A morning walk with M*t*n and P*tt* on the beach at Kommejtkie.   Walkers, surfers, dogs f*cking, families, loners, getting a mild dose of pre-breakfast exercise, on an uncharacteristically cold and grey strand. Later I went for a run on Noordhoek beach, 6km over. I had driven back, changed, and then started from the other end…

We are back in our favorite quiet corner of France to pay bills and agree the next stages in the endless process of getting our house here renovated.  In the process I have been using the tips from Gary Friedman’s very fine photography seminar in Kingston last week to take some photos of the immediate…

  • The fashion watchers

The fashion dummies just can’t make their minds up.  Shot in Salamanca, Madrid on my way to El Corte Ingles (the Spanish Harrods, and meaning “the English cut”) for lunch. This is the swish Madrid equivalent of Knightsbridge, or Mayfair, although nicer ( and at the moment, warmer).
