Now in London again after an almost uninterrupted spell of perfect weather in Cape Town. My new Fuji F600EXR camera arrived while we were away, and I have been extensively playing around with it, as well as catching up London culture. I may not get around to a post on it, but if you can, try to get to the Jeremy Deller show at the Hayward. It's more situational and performance art than representational, but it is very funny, and makes you feel good in a way that the David Hockney show also did.
Because all the futzing about on cameras led to some detailed testing, I have postponed the Otter trail tips section, in favout of a 3 part series about portability in cameras. I'll come back to it later, along maybe with a quick tour of the Deller show.

Current header photo: Villa White
We recently spent a blissful week at the Villa White, buried deep in Canggu in Bali. This is an extraordinary spot, found of course by the Chickadee and her husband. I have seen and stayed in many villas in Bali, but this is without doubt the most beautiful and easiest to live in.
The shot is a 180 deg pano, shot with the Fuji z900, and it shows the wonderful little design features that the Russian owner has put in all over the shop. At night it was even more spectacular and although those shots are not panos and therefore not for the header, I will show some of them in future posts.
Little-known facts: Nutrition
Modern medical practitioners are well aware of the importance of a stodgy diet, supplemented with roughly equal parts of the three major food types, Amyloids, Glactoids, and Putrate of Lead.
The first two can be obtained, as we all know. by repeatedly knawing at a raw turnip, or gourd. However, other than Abysmaloid Powder, there are few easily digestible sources of Putrate of Lead, and the violent fizzing and offensive fumes when mixed with cold tea make ingesting the Powder a challenge for the elderly.
However it has recently been found that mulched cardboard from Amazon packaging, can when steeped in Dr Henderson’s Sauternes Extract, provide a tasty and convenient alternative.
