After dusk on Noordhoek Beach

After dusk on Noordhoek Beach

The scene on Noordhoek Beach  20 minutes after sunset, looking away from the sea. No good sunset last night but a nice view back to the village.  The lights on the right hand side are 6km away, at the other end of Long Beach, or which Noordhoek beach is the North western part.

A 4 minute exposure for the water and rocks and 90 seconds for the sky. Taken on my E-P5 Olympus with a tiny travel tripod. It was so dark at the end I needed a torch to navigate back (to the tiny lights you see in the centre of the frame). The out-of focus material at the bottom of the frame is actually foam, which was bobbing around, and doesn’t give the same effect as smoothing water.
